this guy is selling a takata 4 point harness brand new! the only problem is that it's the short version [for a 2 seater car] and i have a 97 civic coupe, does anyone know if i would still be able to install it? and how or what else i would need.
You should be mounting your harnesses to a harness bar anyway. When the harnesses are mountd to the floor, and you get into an accident, the tension force of the harness is pullign your shoulders down, which compresses your spine and could cause serious injury. There's a reason why racetracks have regulations for the mounting of a harness. If you even just loop it over a bar directly behind the seat, and to the ground, the tension force is pulling back, not down. So as long as you have a bar, yes. If not, you might wind up being in a wheel chair for the rest of your life. Just thought I'd throw some info out there in case you weren't aware, because most people have no clue that harnesses mounted to the floor is a serious hazard.
