Default Churp after shifting to 2nd...

For all you 2006-08 Si owners out there, you know what I'm talking about.

When you go full throttle from 1st to 2nd gear and your still at full throttle after taking off the clutch you get that small churp. Any way to get rid of that? Will taking of VSA do anything?

Why are you so worried about that dude?

there is a way. DRIVE NORMAL. full throttle runs will almost always "chirp" from 1st to 2nd. is this your first car?

It's "chirp" and what do you expect?

Full throttle to full throttle?

Haha, alright sorry guys!

This is my first car that IVE owned. I usually just drive my parent's cars, but I raised enough money to do a payment plan for this.

See, when I am driving normally, I never have a lead foot. But when some guy pulls up to me and calls me a ricer, I had to race twice. I'm just scared because I have only 300 miles on the car, I really hope it'll be alright.

I really wouldn't brag about racing someone on the road cause they called you a ricer... you make the average honda driver look bad.... I honestly dont think you give a **** about your car. your parents seem to have a steady income as well as you so if something breaks daddy can fix it.

now if you take what im saying personally well im sorry but it really irritates me when people come on here asking ignorant questions. Really use some common sense.

Ok i understand he has been saving for years. He must have saved extra for when he breaks something on it.

Oh yes i get into my car. i know how to drive it. i dont race people, not on the street. take it to a track.

I never called him a ricer. he said the person racing him did... i just said giving in and racing the guy makes him and all of us look bad. a ricer is the guy that puts a 5 ft wooden spoiler on there honda.

It doesnt take ***** to come on here and talk about street racing... nobody gives a **** about that this is a tech forum. we usually talk about tuning and modification.
if you want to go brag how fast you are and how many people you raced go somewhere else!

Sounds cool as hell though when you actually do it in a race or on the freeway onramp.

Also, if your chirping any gear your giving it to much gas when shifting but its not really considered bad but you will mess your tranny up faster.

Finally, at least someone understands this!

Smooth, fast, & non-eventful shifts are best for speed.

People always talk about making their tires chirp because their car has so much power. Tires chirp when you shift incorrectly. If someone actually has too much power (and can't put it down to the ground), the wheels will actually spin and probably throw some smoke. My ex-gf used to chirp the tires on her Hyundai Accent (with like 90 hp) all of the time because she was terrible at driving manual.

When i was breaking in my new motor for he first time i backed out of the drive way eased the clutch out and the rapped it up all the way to redline. The hard breakin method is the way to go.

Now that you cleared the whole Japanese thing up. Here's what I still DON'T understand. The phrase quoted above...emphasis in bold.....

So you are JUST LEARNING how to drive M/T and yet you lecture your dad on the fundamentals of RACING?? Cause that's what it sounds like.

Unless HE said that to YOU. In that case it would seem odd cause that would mean that he approves of your street racing......which is something i've never seen a parent approve of.
