Help with flooding carb on 88 crx dx please
My car has been hard to start lately and it was pretty clear that it was getting flooded. I pulled the air cleaner off today and was going to adjust the float bowl levels. The car started then idled rough and died. After it died I heard the fuel still flowing so I looked inside the carb and fuel was just dumping in both sides for 30 seconds or more forming pools over the butterflies. I will upload some pics and vids shortly but any tips on where to start troubleshooting this?
So far the only thing I have done is coimpletely disconnect the charcoal canister.
Also this valve (below the 13 on the right) is spitting fuel whenever I open the throttle a little. Is that normal?

After 5 minutes of sitting fuel is still dripping down this side. Is that normal?

Did this problem get resolved?
Our 1984 Civic has started flooding and not starting when warm.
I have searched the Web and find many questions on how to 'fix' this problem but none of them have answers.
This seems to be a common problem, I hope there is a simple solution.
We just got the car a few weeks ago and it ran OK for a few times. We got the Honda Shop Manual along with it but that is like reading Greek.
Will check back often for a reply.
Thanks,
Mrs. McD

Our problem was solved by thoroughly cleaning the carb. After taking the top off it was evident that it was full of crud and filth. Car runs fine now.
