I am about to sell my skunk2 pro 1. I havenīt been able to get an idle on it. It has had lotīs of tunning in the dyno and it idles at 1.2rpm. It wonīt idle good at all. The power is great. My tuner told me to ask if I could mill a bit of the skunk2 pro 1 cam the primary lobe. He said if that was done he could get an idle for me but said that he degreed the cams and the best idle he got was at 1.200rpm. So could this procedure be done without weakening the cam or should i just trade tem for a skunk2 satge 2 tuner series.
The motor is a b16a with bc185 crank rods and special JE pistons. with 68mm tb and skunk2 intake manifold

lolwut?
I have NO idea what kind of motor you have. Somewhere between 1.6 and 1.8litres I'd imagine, and the CR is prolly between 10:1 and 14:1. Either way, I'm sure those cams are fine for your setup, they are pretty much the best all-around cam out on the market atm for virtually EVERY setup. Get a new tuner IMO.

1st, did you get the centerlines set correctly?
2nd, did you sync the distributor?
3rd, did you bump the timing up to get a smooth idle?
The way I've done them is to set idle at 900 rpm and 21 deg of timing.

yeah x2...my tuner needed five minutes to get a smooth idle on mine.

timing is at 23 and +4 in and -3 at ex. I sure would get a better tuner is there was one here lol. He tryes his best, when we try to put the idle under 1rpm it sounds like a v8 and keeps moving up and down we tryed messing with the fuel and nothing. I will double check the centerlines again.
The kits basically uses a b18c5 crank billet eagle crank 87.2mm stroke and has J E special piston with 11 compression 82mm with new sleeve. It is basically a jun/toda kit only cheaper and custom made. Here it is much cheaper than buying a bwo taht costas 5thousand dolars or a b18 block. The motor is night and day only with this stroker kit and tb and skunk2 pro IM. It ran very hard since it is on a 94 hatch. Now we were trying to achieve itīs full potencial since everybody seems to think that the pro 1īs are the best cams out there. It is being tuned on crome.

hey,
check out this site, scroll down to the skunk2 section, it gives some tips on how to tune pro1's at idle.
It talks about removing fuel from 0-1500 rpm to idle correctly.
I will soon to be on pro1's also, and I will be showing my tuner the same thing.
let me know how it works out if you try this.
hope this helps bri

Are you throwing any check engine lights? It sounds like you could have a vacumm leak or maybe a sticking IACV. If it is going up and down usally that means the IACV is trying to stablaize the idle by adjusting air flow. Spray carb cleaner around everthing on the intake and see if you are sucking in air.

dropped them in, set valve lash cold .007in and .008exh had issues with idling at first, but it was the map i was running.
i never got the pro1's to idle the way i wanted, sure they will idle at 850 - 900 rpms by removing fuel and bumping timing, but i was never able to get rid of the lope, plus it would die every now and then. then again a lot of guys like that v8 rumble, it did make my car sound mean
