Stock spark plugs on '06 DX to last 80K miles?
Does anyone know what sparks they put in stock '06 Civic? (DX).
Is it those 80K-100K miles platinum ones?
The maintenance guide says to replace them in Sub-Item 4 which is probably 60 or 80K miles since in involves timing belt replacement.
Sub-Item 4
- Replace spark plugs
- Replace timing belt and inspect water pump (V6 only)
which comes after:
Sub-Item 3
- Replace transmission fluid
So, if I got 45K miles on mine, I can wait till about 80?
Sounds awfully long for spark plugs.

^ x2. yea are you sure you're looking at the right manual? fg/fa no longer have timing belts, they have timing chains which do not need to be replaced at 80k. they should actually last the lifetime of the car if nothing major happens to the motor.
as for your spark plugs. i'd replace them by 60k max, but i guess you could go up to 80k. with spark plugs there is no definite mileage to replace them, you should just check them regularly after 30k?.
