Hey guys I've tried to search and have only come up with a couple of things for this. I have a 97 Civic Ex with a B16A2 swapped in and know that I need either the Del Sol Si or CRV bracket to make it work but what belt do I order and is there any other things I might need? the swap was done about 5 yrs ago and I'm just threw with not having a/c in VA anymore. Some might say if you've gone this long with out it why mess with it, well when I get my Legacy GT my wife will drive the civic and not the explorer and she is going to want a/c

i used a 97 GSR belt. it worked fine

Couldn't you get away with using a 99-00 Civic Si A/C parts? That is what the engine came out of, and your civic is the same body style. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think everything will work. (bracket, mount, belt)

 

ok you did a swap why do you want ac is just uses gas and it slows you down i always take all the ac out of all my cars

 

that is because you live in CT. a/c is almost a must here, it get 110 degrees and you have 100% humidity.
CT is a nice place. i've been there once. nice people as well.

 

thanks you guys, is the SI a 31 inch belt? and I need the P54 bracket right? Does any one have these parts numbers laying around. I tried to go on majestic honda and look for the P54 bracket but it was on the site in the pic but it didn't have a price for it.

my bro has a gsr in his 98 ex with a/c....u can use any b-series a/c bracket but since yours a civic you can use the d-series a/c compressor with the civic or integra belt(i forgot which one but try booth )...the only thing is the d-series compressor will only be held on with two bolts but it works. if you want it to look really clean then find a 99-00 civic si and buy their a/c lines with compressor...that will work too if you have the money.

You aren't seriously this dense, are you? You do realize that when the AC is off, the power draw is pretty much ZERO, right? You are taking the HP to spin a belt and a pulley that is rolling on a bearing. That may take .05 hp. Man, that's a lot. When it's on, sure it draws down. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? The ECU can automatically shut the AC compressor off at high load so it's just like having the AC off. Then, when you let off the gas, it magically turns back on. Weird.

Anyway, here is what I have come up with: If you have the PS bracket that connects to the head AND the driver side cast iron bracket on the block, you need a 99-00 Civic Si belt. If you have a regular PS bracket, or none at all, you can use the GSR belt. If you use the GSR belt on the reinforced driver bracket, the tensioner pulley will hit the cast iron piece that wraps around the head. Just use the P7J bracket since it's cheap and bolt your stock D series parts back on.

 

PJ7 bracket is the CRV right? and just go and buy a Si belt.

I just read this on another site is the man right or wrong

"Since you have a B18, you can use the cheaper CRV bracket( It's like $60 at SLHondaparts.com). If you had a shorter deck height B16, you would've HAD to use the Del Sol bracket."

Since you have a B18 block, you can use the CRV one regardless. I'm not sure on being able to use the CRV bracket on a B16.

bolted up to the motor just fine - stock 95 ac compressor bolted on fine too. i ordered the tensioner from honda and it wont bolt up. what tensioner do i need? can someone give me a part #? the guys at honda are no help at all.

will all the other 95 parts hook up when i get a new tensioner? i have all the other stock parts/hoses/etc
