ok, i picked up a 99 integra ls that was t-boned and totalled for real cheap... so since i blew my motor in my civic i figure ill just do a swap... so i have the motor and trans obviously, the conversion mounts, ecu and all the wiring harness's... my question is, exactly which wiring harness's will i need? will i only need the engine harness? also, what else will i need to complete the swap? im trying to put this in without going out and buying expensive performance stuff because im going to be selling this civic any ways...

 

as long as its obd2 civic you can use the integra harness and yeah you'll only need the engine harness if ur just swapping in the engine... if its obd2 civic and u have obd2 ecu its plug and play my friend...

 

plug and play used same harness that came with engine and connect at the passenger side plugs...simple

thats what i thought, just wanted to make sure. so as to the problem ha... my civics obd1, its a 95... what would i need to do or get then to do the swap since they are 2 different obd's... sorry, i should have said this in the first place

 

are you wanting to run obd1 or obd2?

 

I thought that the 96-00 Civic engine harness runs through the fire wall, and the Integra's clip in at the top of the strut tower? If thats the case he can't just swap the engine harness over for a perfect plug n play, but is going to have to find another harness if the one his Civic has does not work.

 

Sorry, what year is the Civic your swaping the Engine into? If its a 92-95 then it will work. GL with the swap.

yes, its a 95 civic so its obd1 and the integras a 99 obd2

 

Required parts in order to bolt an OBD2 B-series engine into EG/DC chassis:
('94-95 integra owners can reuse the items you already have that are mentioned below)

94-01 integra or 99-00 Civic Si front tranny bracket (from any 5speed model)

94-01 integra rear engine "L" shaped bracket (from any 5speed model)

94-01 integra driver side 3-post mount (if going B18B/C/C5 - not needed if going B16/B17!)

Note: You can reuse your existing civic/delsol driver side dual-post mount if going OBD2 B16A

94-01 integra or 99-00 Civic Si A/C bracket

94-01 integra or 99-00 Civic Si complete shift linkage

Note: Delsol owners must use a B-series delsol shift linkage (rare to find used; best if bought brand new from Honda)

94-01 integra or 99-00 Civic Si complete axles w/half-shaft

A U.S. 96-01 integra engine wire harness is a MUST for this type of swap! This is a key ingredient in getting an OBD2 engine to work in an OBD1 vehicle. The ever so clever Honda engineers were cool enough to make the US OBD2 Integra/Delsol engine wire harnesses backwards-compatible with OBD1 vehicles.

OBD1 ecu to power the OBD2 engine or an OBD1-&gt; JDM OBD2a/b ecu jumper harness adaptor to adapt a JDM/US OBD2 ecu

 

thats awsome, so pretty much i can just use everything off this integra. now one last question, the obd1 ecu part... pretty much your saying i cant use obd2 ecu out of the integra correct? which means i just ahve to find an obd1 ecu from an integra?

 

no problem bro.... and yeah thats exactly right, just trade someone ur obd2 LS ecu for their obd1 LS ecu... Or buy the conversion harness from obd2-obd1 and than you can use ur ecu that you have but that's gonna run you more than just buying an LS obd1 ecu...

 

I'm sure you could use either OBD1 PR4 "92-93 integra LS ecu" or OBD1 P75 "94-95 integra LS ecu"... I'm not a big B series dude "SinGLe CaM my bRotHA" but I've helped out with about 9 bajillion swaps locally with friends so have had to go through this plenty of times....
