Civic B18B1 swap help
I have a 1998 honda civic canadian si/american ex (d16y8 vtec obd2a). I recently purchased a fully dressed b18b1 engine swap from a 2001 integra (obd2b). I got the harness from the integra also. Ive been reading a lot of treads but haven't got a straight answer. I'm confused about wiring and would like to know everything i need to do before i pull my old engine out. I'm using my stock obd2a harness from my civic and i have the obd2b p75 ecu from the b18. im assuming id just need a obd2a to obd2b conversion harness correct? i know i have to swap the plug on my dizzy and extend the iacv plug to fit. is there anything else i need to know? would it be worth converting to obd1? whats needed to switch to obd1?

Re: Civic B18B1 swap help
Ok, really simple. You use your current OBD-2A engine harness and modify/shorten/lengthen/change plugs as needed. You cannot use the OBD-2B P75 ECU because it has an immobilizer, so forget about purchasing an OBD-2A to 2B harness adapter... just find an OBD-2A P75 manual ECU and plug it straight in. Also, use a '96-99 LS distributor and it will plug right into your original engine harness.

So that you can tune it. You can install a race-cat or test pipe and not get the secondary O2 sensor CEL. You can go that way by simply purchasing an OBD-2A to OBD-1 ECU harness adapter and a '94-95 P74/75 ECU. The OBD-2A distributor will work with the OBD-1 ECU.
