Default looking to buy an rsx type-s

so i'm looking into getting a 2003 rsx type-s with 85.5k miles on it. My only concern is the owner said the engine went through about 1 quart of oil every 3000 miles. is that normal on these cars? the heat shield on the catalytic converter has also fallen off, but the dealer where he got it from said that they would be liable for any damage caused as a result of this. he wanted $14k, but i got him down to $12k. what do you guys think? is it a good deal?

K-series do burn more oil than other motors but neither of mine required additional oil to be added before change. 1 quart at 3000 miles is too much IMO.

Mine burns no oil, and give the motor on trackdays, and semi hell autocrossing.

Mine neither but I've heard they do more than B/D series many times.

Not worth it. I bought my type s with 79,000 for $8000, but needed $800 worth of body work and does not burn oil. Keep searching
