Default Ebay radiator...

I dont own a civic, but an Accord. But seeing as how the civic owners are those with the half sized radiators I saw this as the appropriate place to post this.

I know a lot of local guys who have H22 swapped civic that are using the stock single core half sized radiators. I just blew my F22 and the rod shot thru my radiator. Im now getting an H22 localy for dirt cheap, but that still leaves me without a radiator.

I was thinking of getting one of those ebay aluminum dual core half sized radiators off of ebay for civics. But I dont know there build quality or how they perform. So if any one here as experience with those ebay radiators could you tell me if they are sufficiant?

Thanks alot
Derek

there nice but you will have to move your radiator tabs on the core support so it can hold the half radiator

I know that, I just want to know their build quality. On the ebay pics the welds look emaculant. But those are still only pictures. Im worried it might leak or perform worse than a stock civic half sized single core.

If it matches or outperforms the civic stock half sized then I might go ahead and buy it...It will make my tucked bay look a bit cleaner...

it may work well for a while...heck even forever. But honestly I wouldnt mess with one due to being the filler neck has to be perfectly clearanced for the radiator cap. The radiator cap also can not seat at an angle, else the valve will not open.

If it checks out on the pressure test, and the reserve tank is fully functional with the ebay rad, and the cap is doing it job's then go for it, but watch out.

Also not related but what does a bare ITR intake manifold sale for? I have one and was going to sell it bare, although I have the FICV,AICV,Fuel Rail, Almost everything...what could I expect to get from it bare, and also together?

feedback prevents being ripped off though... Not overheating because you bought a bootsy radiator.

Ive always been a firm believer in you get what you pay for, and given the importance of a radiator... I wouldnt buy one for a "track" car, but assuming you just throw it in your Daily Driver you should be good.

Agreed, 99.97% sure he lost alot of power over the factory airbox, and a shitty walmart filter.

And Ive heard a few bad things about mishimoto too. IMO radiators arent just a box of aluminum. See what happens when you spring a pin hole sized leak that is nearly impossible to trace. Your radiator loses coolant, but the reserve tank stays full. Check the marketplace sponsors, you will find something.

Mishimoto has great deals, I haven't heard any first hand horror stories about them and plan to pickup one for my upcoming B-swap.

If you pick up a Mishimoto I would recomend replacing the radiator cap, I have heard of complaints about those, other than that the Honda and Nissan community seems to support these guys.

This will be good......Sorry brosef, but your about to get a 4th of july festival on your ***. Take this as a warning, delete your pic, and revise the above. Anybody who buys a spectre filter from pepboys should've bought a ford. Im a hater.....anyone else? BTW Eran and NOFX know more about at least 90% +/- 9% than most people on H-T. I guess he was such a reject to land a girl like NOFX. To us enthusiasts your just a poser and a reject.

About the dual a$$ kicking air filter action, its more than likely power loss over regular stock air box with drop in K&N filter. Not being a hater, just stating facts.

To the OP, check the honda market place, check around. With Honda, I usually prefer Honda parts. If you can find a Honda rad for cheap, even if its a few bucks more than the Shur Fine Rad, go for the Honda man. Just my $0.02

to me, there was a slight barely noticeable gain on my car.....felt like if the nose hairs were taking out and let it breathe better. Thats my personal Experience.

But then again, i never had stock air filter so i cant put it to test....i got car with tthat same intake just 1 filter...and adding another filter made it a lil better....

Imma search for a stock filter setup see how it feels on my car. Cant go against u cuz i never have tried my engine with stock intake setup.
