but question is, i see much em1 with black hood on an electric blue si, and its not carbon fiber, so the question is this a hood off of the oem color black civic si or is it just painted black or wut? u know what i mean? thank!

 

most people use cabon hoods, but there some painted either flat black or semi-gloss black.

 

Why? Why have a hood not match, intentionally? Unless it's carbon fiber/kevlar, there's really no sense in it not matching.

Why do you care? Maybe the owner had to replace the hood quickly and could only find a black hood and can't afford to paint it yet.

Somebody said why have something that doesn't match put on your car? Well, two colors matched well together can look real nice on any car.

For example, my friend's EG civic coupe has the Ford Edge orange color on everything except his door handle moldings, mirrors, and hood. It looks really nice IMO.

it is art. it is like, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. maybe somebody keyed his hood.

 

well since there are like 100's of shades/ paint colors of black it would really come down to what you want.

but since it's an si if you wanted to go with a honda color i think the sexiest black is fbp

 

Depends on thier situation. Maybe they got there hood stolen so they got another hood but it came in black, hood was dented too much, etc. Who knows.
