hey whats up guys ive been a lurker on here for a while. but now ive got a problem that i cant figure out and need better advice. i have a 92 hatch with a z6 swap. for some reason my car will not start up for about a half hour after you shut it off. when you try to start it when it dont want to all you can smell is gas. i have changed out the igniter,coil,fuel filter,plugs,head gasket,and i/m gasket. some one told me that i might have a leaky injector??? i am getting spark. i have a extra set of injectors but they are y8 injectors and i dont want to cut my clips on my harness if this is not my problem. when the car will finally start it runs like **** for about 10 seconds. any help is appreciated.

this may sound stupid, but have you started all the basics? clogged fuel filter, etc?

Almost does sound like leaking injectors, but check your timing. Do you have any cels? I would almost think maybe a bad ect (engine coolant temp) sensor but im not sure since you smell gas a lot.

 

there is no cels thanks for the help. i wish there was so i could narrow it down. i know the cel works because i had a bad speedo sensor and it threw a code for it but it is fixed

 

figured it out. i took the injectors out and there was a shitload of carbon built up on them. im going to the store to buy a bottle of seafoam
