i own a 93 civic hatchback and i just put a motor into and for some reason when i turned the igniton to the second click the starter went off with out me turning the key and the motor wouldnt start so i put a push start button and it cranked and started the motor but i had to hold the key in the ignition to the third click so that the car can stay on.

 

check grounds? did you replace all the necessary components i.e.(plugs, wires, dist cap, oil, all filters)? and how about fuel, gettin enough....too much...? ehh ehhh

 

Possible relay problem maybe, its got me.
