Default OBX LSD on 500+whp b16 hatch

I will be done with my build soon and only have a few more things to order. A basic run down on the car:eg hatch,84mm b16, built head, garret 60-1 w/70ar 255hp,750's, cable b16 trans with act 6 puk. I will be on around 27-30 psi on race gas with 24.5x8x13 hoosiers. My question is should i wait and save up money for an obx lsd? I would like to see the car go into the 10's and would hate to put it back together having that as a limiting factor. thanks guys

ok cool. I have oem axles right now and another pair of oem's just in case.

The car will be getting tuned on a p28 w/chrome pro. Are there any cars out there with High HP running chrome?

Trust me i know. I will be getting a lot of seat time before cranking it all the way up. Thats good, im hopin for around 400 on pump and 5-550 on 112. I will be buying an obx lsd and then will put the car together.

I would personally run it open diff until you can save for a quaife/wavetrac lsd. The OBX diff isnt that cheap and if it breaks (mine did) then you will end up buying a quaife /wavetrac anyway and spending more money in the long run. I went 10.40's open diff with my 500+whp B16 and cut the same 60's as I do now with a quaife/spool.

Really, How much is the quaife lsd? I have never herd of a wavetrac lsd i will have to check those out. 10.40's? dam thats pretty fast for open diff. What slicks were you running? Care to elaborate on the set up a little more.

The quaife or wavetrac lsd's are usually around $900 but have lifetime warranties so last diff you will ever have to buy. As for my 10.40 open diff B16, it was a stock sleeve je piston/eagle rod 81.5mm b16, stock gsr head with supertech valvetrain, and t3/t67 h.o. turbo, made 570@ 29 psi and went 10.40@142 on M/T 24.5x9-13 slicks.

Im sure the OBX LSD is a great lsd. ANYTHING has the chance of breaking when you beat on it, sometimes not even that. My experiences with OBX have been good and bad so im neutral on the quality of their products.
