im trying to put new carpet in the rex. i have everything taken out except the carpet because i cannot get that damn foot pad up. what is the trick? i dont wanna break it so i wanna know the RIGHT way.. ok thanks.

 

I think the rubber lifts up and there are screw/s under

 

Jimmy is right .......there's a spot right in the middle of the dead pedal that will pry up with a flat head screwdriver. Then there's screws (I actually think they're bolts) under the cap.
