Default Hi-Way Cel, can't pull it. Searched

I've searched for this, no luck.

I have a built and boosted D in my civic, tuned with S300. In the city it drives awesome, smooth idle but when I hit the Hi-way and maintain a constant rpm I get a CEL after about 15minutes. The car then drives like **** and can barely maintain and idle (fluctuates)

I can't pull the code I tried 5 times, nothing.

Anyone had this? When the ECU goes into cel mode does it run the original safe mode or is my tune still there? I'd hate to run lean because of a ghost Cel.

Thanks for the help..

Have someone riding with you that knows how to jump ecu (or have someone driving). When the code comes on jump it then and there while your driving and see what it says. Another thing you could do (if you have a laptop and Smanager) is datalog and when the code comes on the datalog will read it.

Does the car act funny when the code comes on?

Yeah. What I did I had my dad jump the code reader harness(while driving) and the check engine light still didn't flash. It stayed solid. Usually this means a bad ecu but it never happens during city driving so I'm at a loss.

I know the ecu is good just bought it brand new.

When its jumped does it turn off and then goes solid again or just stays solid? Go back to your tuner and ask if they could rewrite your current tune back on. How long have you had S300 and this problem?

When we jump it the CEL doesn't go off. Just stays.

Just got the car tuned the other week. Only put on like 200miles or so. S300 is fresh out of the Box.

I think I'll call my tuner and get the tune re-copied on the chip. Anybody have any other ideas?

Thanks for the replys so far

Like stated before if you have a laptop you can check the code on s300 it will tell your exact code...if you dont, take the tuner for a ride and let him check, probley a little problem from vibrations or somthing

I agree with them J-lo, when you're back in town I have Smanager on my laptop so we can hook it up and see if Hondata picks anything up. Give me a call.

It is most likely an overheating check light. I have S300 also and I got a check light after driving for 25mins or so on my way to work. I tried pulling the code when I go there but the light would not flash. On the way home it did it again so I took it easy and when I got home I hooked it up to my laptop and the error code was "engine overheating". I am guessing this check light is triggered by hondata and stored in there and not in the ecu itself. Now i know not to trust my stock needle since it never went past the halfway mark and hondata showed my ect at 220!
