Default Axle nut removal... off of the car

I recently found a set of 'teg knuckles at a junk yard, and i would like to put them on my newly acquired eh shell. The knucles are off of the car, but with the damn nuts still on the axles. Anyone have a clever way to get them off? I already took my 1" drive breaker to it, and it was a no go. It's at a yard, so please dont waste your time by saying impact gun...

Take another long bar and put it between the lug nut studs and lock it against the ground then use your braker bar with a 4ft pipe on it.

Use steady pressure on your bar, I've had better results with steady pressure then jumping on a 1/2 breaker bar and breaking it.

Or buy it and clamp the rotor in a big vise.

Good luck.

Battery powered impact gun.

-or-

Haggle with the yard... tell them than you only want the knuckles and not the axles... but you can't remove the axle nut...

maybe they have an impact gun.. or maybe they will not charge you for the axles..

I've had this happen to me.. and both times.. they either removed the part for me.. or they *gave* me the unremovable part.

You could cut the outer C/V joint on the axle, leaving just the end in the hub. They probably wouldn't even notice it.

I dont have a battery powered impact, and i dont think any of my friends are baller enough to have one neither. and the bitch that was at the front counter is, for once, car savvy. she is also rather ridiculous... she charges for every little thing (knuckle, hub, rotor, calliper, BACKING PLATE... holy ****), and i dont want to be charged for a outer cv, because yes, she will charge. she is teh ghey. i think if they allow a vice, ill lug one in. or pay for a warranty on a part that i want to return.

i dont know where the yards you go to are, crazydave, but the only things i get for free at the junk yards i go to is the stuff i pocket. the douche bags never help...because i dont speak spanish.
