Default searched thoroughly about lowering springs for a 89 crx.

my friend has a set laying around. its for his em2. its from ebay.

exactly like in the picture:

now i just want my car to be low until i have enough money saved for a complete suspension, since the springs i have are cut. it rides so shitty. ive searched ebay for 89 crx springs and they look the same for his em2. it says it fits other years also. but im not so sure about that.

im wondering if it would fit on my 89 crx. would it need some mod done?

it has tokiko blues shocks also not sure if theyre blown, i doubt it though.

thanks.

Stay away Kojack.

I got some cuz i didn't care about stiff rides, and brand names, etc. I just wanted something for my "beater" daily driver. Picked some up. I loved it at first, cuz it lowered the car to my liking, and it rode firm, but not too stiff.
Well, several months later, i'm looking to replace them. They ride like crap now, probably cuz they blew my stock shocks.

Spend the money on a decent set of springs.

well right now the setup when i got the car is tokiko blues all the way around and cut stock springs. and it rides mad shitty. and i wanted to put the ebay springs on instead of having the cut springs. its only temporary for the meantime until i save enough money for a good set of suspension. i just dont like the handling of my car right now, its noisy and its shitty. id rather use barely used ebay springs temporarily over cut springs that doesnt help.

then you should look to replace those.

illuminas are a great value. try out any decent spring kit like eibach sportlines or neuspeed or H&R. tein S-tech's arent worth the money.

illumina's and neuspeed race are good for a mild/not too agressive ride. they're a good "starter" setup

Did your boy tell you why he recommended them? Or are you just going to buy them because someone else told you too?

I'm not trying to turn you away from that setup, because it's a popular setup that works well, hell I'm evening running GC/koni's, but do you even know if they will work well for your goals?

Ebay Springs with Blown out Struts will have a nasty ride because they don't spring rate the springs. I had a set of Ebay coil overs on my Del sol with new KYB struts and it rode smooth.

yeah he said its a good balance between track and street. he also told me that it rides pretty smooth. but not to put it way too stiff for how i want my ride to be. thats how he crashed his last crx.
