Default Switched from Nitto Drags to BFG... traction WORSE?

turbo d16 y8 bottom/z6 head
t3 t4 54 trim
300whp DAILY
Omnipower full drag coilovers 12k front 18k rear ....yea its stiff

Before: Nitto 205 55 14 on steelies = hooked up better in 1st, chirped n grbbed
Now: BFG 225 50 15 on slipstreams = wont hook in first, spins through 2nd. grabs and BOGGGGS 3rd terribly, and i KNOW going to kill my times.

I don't want slicks as of now!!!!! this is my daily

i dont have a camber kit on yet, nor an alignment since the drop. but all i did was switch out the tires and ive got some stickier beefier tires, and they are roasting way worse than the nittos. Are they too new? Some type of coating on em? Ive heated em on the streets 2x nicely. and still shitty. Haven't tracked them yet, but going thurs. any suggestions on Newness of the tires haveing somethign to do with this issue? i want to see some 12's here

i never had any luck with bfg's. i had them long enough to realize that falken ziex's hooked harder. i had an h2b on an 85 shot...it probably made like 260. something around there im guessing. it was like 70 degrees out with a dry road. my car spun into 3rd gear bad. you might wanna try mickey thompsons radials. they make a 205/50/15 that hooks really well.

Even since the 80's the word on the street was that you could smoke a v8 if they were running BFG's... They were known as "Tire Fryers".... I have not had good luck with them in the years I tried using them. No traction at all. If you are looking for a D.O.T tire, try Hoosier if they have your size. They are very sticky

Its too bad Yokohama doesnt make the A008RS tires anymore.. They were a great tire for Hondas. Just not good in the rain.

I never had problems with traction with bfg's

On a stock lst with 260whp It would hook every gear.
(1.8 60's all day) went 11.87@118 on 225 bfgs

you cant launch it off of rev limiter or anything just ease into to it.

dont worry about preloading just pull out then get into the power. I would start them around 10.5 pounds then keep dropping untill you go slower. I used to run them about 7-8.5 depending on the track

wat car was that in man? 11's??? nice times. I was just hoping to break into the 12s. mines in a 96 cx hatch. i did walk a TRANS AM WS6 w/ bolt ons. said he was mid 12s. and that was @ 15 psi... im tuned for high boost @ .... 21psi right now ive got 22psi on the streets for daily driving. dropped my BOOST to 12 psi and its hooking better. but only due to the 70-80hp drop.. lol hopefully the camber jits will be on tonight. looks to be @ least 3-4 degreez off now....

Yeah, just blame it on the tires.

I found Azenis just as good on the street as BFG DR, however at the track, if you treat the BFG's like a slick, they walk all over a regular street tire like the Azenis.

Go get an alignment first and then make a new post titled 'Switched from Nitto Drags to BFG... traction AWESOME'.

Nitto drag radials suck compared to the BFG drag radials.

kinda hard to do when the et streets have been on backorder for ~8 months and still are...
