Adjusting the rear brakes- drum
i replaced my shoes a while back, don't drive the car much, i know , it is a shame, but how do i adjust the rear shoes. the manual says the adjustment is on the inside of the lower control arm.
i took the rubber grommet off and could not feel the adjuster.
tried the backing up and applying the brake routine. didn't do much.
adjusted the emergency brake and that helped.
thanks for any help. 95 civic.

Self-adjusting never works.
There is a star nut inside where the rubber grommet is...grab a light and you'll see it. You have to spin that nut, while the drums are on, in order to adjust everything.
HUGE pain in the ***...
There is a tool for it, but a long std screwdriver will work just fine (its what Ive always used)
If you cant find the star though the hole, pull the drum, find it, make a mental note, and then replace the drum...
