I don't know about the durability of the coating.
On the other hand, they look really cool, and don't cost too much, so if the coating wears off you can get a new set later without too much pain to the wallet.
Honestly, I wouldn't trust those to hold my spare in place in the trunk, much less my wheels on the car.
But I'm just bitter because my über expensive Rays lightweight lugs didn't last 6 months before they started to show signs of impending failure. The threading was starting to come out of each lug, and the anodized coating made it easy to see the surface deformation starting on each lug. Only ever hand tightened with a torque wrench, never an impact, and never over-torqued.
Steel lugs for me from now on. My peace of mind, and the safety of my passengers, is not worth saving a quarter pound of weight.

I believe i had the same but in black. When i removed them after a couple of months i couldn't get them off because the wrench just messed up the lug nuts so bad (they just became round because the material was so bad).
Just pay a little bit more money for some Muteki's, which i never had any problems with (had 3 different sets).
I'm also not a big fan of the Ray's ones. Those would damage by just looking at them in the wrong way (had one set of extended red one's).

'You get what you pay for'. They probably won't be as nice as in the picture and you can expect fading right away.
Just get the standard steel/chromed lugs from the dealership or the FLAPS.

I have those and they suck floppy donkey dick in regards to the paint. The paint came off mine the third time I took off the lugs. The key that came with it is starting to warp/bend n the edges if you tend to overtighten it just a lil bit. It's starting to round itself off.. pretty soon I won't be able to take off the lugs lol.
Anyways, the lugs itself held up pretty good as to function but for look-wise, they suck and as for the key, just remember not to overtighten it with a wrench...

Hate to say it but the more i look into getting lug nuts im afraid to mess with anything made of aluminum. Cant beleive rays and other companies even use it. Feels so cheap and like they could break if pinched tight enough
So far if you never use an impact gun the muteki lug nuts seem the safest to me and paint holds up ok. First time i impacted mine on in a hurry though and the paint pretty much chipped on every edge.

Never used them, i got them, looked at them, and werent my cup of tea so sold em last night actually. Im going with probably just muteki with an aftermarket lock unless i can find some steel ones made by a reputible company. I just dont trust aluminum. Ive seen steel lug nuts/bolts (volvo) that strip out

I have a 20yr old car that still has the original aluminium lugs on it. I have no problems with them. But I know what you mean, if I had to get new ones I would just get generic steal ones. I mean, after all, they are just nuts....nothing more. Certainly not worth what some people are paying for them.
