The question is if there are enough cars around still? And 1/8th mile???

we were just talking about this last weekend. too bad there wouldnt be a way to have pro front, hotrod, and spfwd. im extremely excited to go the ADRL race here at MIR. i havnt made it to a ADRL race yet.
If it happened it would be 1/8 and the rules would be even more relaxed than they are right now. I could see it becoming basically an FWD Outlaw 10.5 class...
it does not have to go in the stock location as far as i know. I have seen other teams put two little lights on the front end and wire them up and they where allowes to race.
they might be off a little but can still quaifly as I have seen some of there 1/8 mile times. if 15 or more cars show up it is a 16 car field.
Two out of 3 races this year have been 16 car fields. the martin, mi was a 8 car field with 10 people trying to get into the show.

You can run Xtreme 10.5" but its going to take a 4.40 soon to be in the show consistently with 4.20 e/t's starting to get more common that will soon be the norm to go #1 qualifer I would presume.
i've considered running orsca 1/8 mile 7.0 class index races. Its something to do and 75% of the races are within 3-4 hrs drive from my house. Just gotta make a more durable drive line before i pay 105$ per race to enter. Id race at an ADRL race is it was nearby and had a fwd class or similar. 1/8 mile is short and sweet, all the really close tracks to me are GARBAGE.

ive just read all 9 pages of that thread....
a lot of misconceptions on import cars capabilities across the board. I think it would be a good idea if that added a class for PFWD to run in the series. im sure it would take a few minor tweaks to the combo to move the powerband around.
i like the idea. i dont know where the future of sport compact drag racing is headed.

I honestly don't get that feeling after also reading all thru that thread, I personally think its more racial then anything for example,

2- they run at 8th mile tracks, and these cars run **** numbers to the 8th
3- These are down right rednecks that show to ADRL, They highly dislike imports, and they wont like FWD CARS! or 4 BANGERS!!!!!!</TD></TR></TABLE>
Sounds to me like the rednecks are afraid of being invaded by some people of foreign cultures if you ask me. **** look at nascar the blackest thing in it is Juan Montoya's hair. Yes what I'm saying sounds like a long shot but the writing is clear on the wall.

If we're not wanted somewhere, dont force it trying to get them to accept us. I wouldnt want to attend a place where we weren't wanted in the first place.
id be embaresed bringing a fwd car out to ADRL. that **** is for the big boys, not the little kiddies.
you want to run ADRL, go build an outlaw 10.5 rwd car.
turboAWD, you might as well shut the [freak] up, your a moron, and it clearly shows in every single post you make, whether it be on here or on another site. your a moron, plain and simple. throw your fuking pom-poms in the trash. you are a good example of why "sport compact people" get bad names, you dont even know about half the **** you are talking about. who cares how fast a fwd has gone, it will never compete with a rwd on its best day. take that **** home and leave it there.
FWD cars should never be welcome at any ADRL event. you think you got what it takes, build a rwd car, and go get your *** handed to ya, by the big boys. you are seriously kidding yourself thinking it might be a good idea to bring in the fwd cars, these people dont want to see that bullshit, if they did, they can attend a differant event in which they can see fwd cars battle it out. these people want to see bad *** cars, on edge, close racing, putting on a hell of a show. to see a fwd car would be like the tortise and the hair, the tortise being the fwd.
yes i own a fwd, and no i dont think its "special"

theres a popular series down here that accommodates the adrl guys as well called orsca. They have index classes as well - 5.30, 6.0, 7.0.
What does your car run because im sure it you are solid in the 8's then its probably a 5.xx car, that seems pretty stout to me and these races are pretty packed and they seem to welcome me when i proposed to show up at some races. Yes, ADRL cars are ***** to the walls, but most races will have CLASSES to accommodate other speed of cars, what does it matter what wheel is pulling. speed is speed.

im sorry, i dont know how fast your PRO Front car goes in the 1/8, but i dont think its 4.30 or better. but for future reference, just how has it been in the 1/8

best we have been is 5.777 so we definitly have a long ways to go. imo, bringing your car to a local type event is much differant then attending the "outlaw" style events that ADRL puts on.

well its not a local event, this series travels to tn, sc, alabama, ga, and even englishtown. They have Outlaw classes 4 second screamers. This **** is related to ADRL, some of the cars are the same. ADRL just has a much broader schedule.

even still, what is getting these fwd cars at these shows going to do ? will that jump attendance numbers at our own events ? why spread ourselves thin, when our own events have a less than stellar attendance record ? honestly these people that attend those events are going to look at our cars as "boring", especially when you have small tire cars with the front end up till the 330 or more, that is what makes them entertaining. how entertaining can a fwd be ? i know fwd/4cyl/rotary cars have certainly caught my attention for the past 10 years, but whats going to catch these peoples attention ? are they going to step foot into the sport compact world by building new cars ? hell, half the new cars that are/were being/been built havent even been out to events(at least that i know of)
tell me why we seem to have more and more people just dropping like flys from our sport year after year ?
tell me why we have seen numberous builds in the magazines, on the internet, through word of mouth or whatever, but they never get completed, are sold or whatever, they just arent out there. and with them they take sponsorship dollars away from the sport, and leave sour taste in corparates mouths ? Rj simrok, rodger @ speedcamp, jojo callos ? adam sawatari ? even Sean Carlson, Mike crawford, and Sean Moeler, where are they ? where are the cars? even the OG's like Myles Bautista, Sean Hilier, Tony Shagday, Dr Charles,.. what happend to Ara Arslenian with the AEM rail car? what happend to the solara's.... all of these people had or have bad *** pro cars, but where are they now, and what happend to the sponsorships they had or have ? how does the "backer" feel about a car/person/team/business, thats taken their money, built a car, but never been out to the events ? some we have seen at numberous shows such as hot import nights, but what the hell. thats alot differant than being out at the sport compact event, and making a good showing, or even running at all.
this sport had its hayday a few years back, people took more than they could handle and dropped the ball. now we are looking for poor excuses to let us run at other events...
forgive me im bitter

i agree Ryan, and im completly guilty of it myself, i know ive been working on my car on event days, wishin i could been there racing.
we can sit here all day long and talk about how much "love" we have for the sport, but when the sport comes to our town, and we are nowhere to be found, whats it doin for the sport? personal financial agendas and situations definitly come priority over the hobby we all love.
i dont think just ditching the idea of sport compact racing is going to get it anywhere..
for me, this is not just a "hairstyle".... this whole "thing" has been my life since 99 or so, and even before that, we used to go to the lowrider/summer slam @ etown with my airbagged s10, and go watch the racing, cause the car show was just plain boring. i know im not the richest guy around, but i have been trying to do this for a hell of a long time now, and im not about to give in or give up on sport compact racing. and im surely not going to attend a different "v8 style" event, where we may be welcome. im here for sport compact. if we arent here to put on a show, who will be ?
honestly, how many people do you know building racecars ? or even have the slightest intrest in it ?
i know its like a 1 man show in my town.

i hope everyone will stick together for BOTI for next season, if all goes well, it will probably be one of the best things to ever happen to the sport. hopefully getting alot of people back into it, and many new faces interested in it.
