So i just swapped an H22 into my eg civic. Literally just put it in 5 days ago with my buddy. Last 3 days i have started it to let it warm up then shut it off and work on other things. Well Today i started it and now there is SMOKE coming from the tranny. I don't have a bottom tranny cover plate. But still its a Brand new throw out bearing, Act pressure plate and disk, Fidanza flywheel. Its ALL BRAND NEW. I dont understand why its smoking? it smells real bad like almost a burn't clutch. But i haven't even moved or driven the car yet?
Most likely oil or antifreeze that dripped on the motor/tranny burning off, especially from a fresh install. It'll take some time to burn off completely.
Otherwise, try driving it around and see if the clutch is prematurely engaging.
