ok, so i was driving through the neighborhood and just driving like normal. then, the cel light pops up and the car loses power, and then just stops. i try to start the car, but it will tun over, but it wont cut on. all the lights work, but the car wont start. also after that, i tried to check the code, by putting a paper clip in the blue jumper, and nothing happened. im sure i did that right, but still, nothing happened. after that. i put the car in the car in the on position and leave it there, so the radio is running and the air conditioning is on, but all of the sudden, i hear a static sound near the ecu, so i think its the speaker so i assumed it was the radio. but its not. so i turn the radio off and i still hear the sound. so i turn the car off, then i turn it off again and no noise, then i turn it on again, and the static noise starts again. im thinking that something is shorting out. i dont know what just happened to my car, but now its stuck at someones house sitting there, and i dont know what happened. but i am about to go get the diagnostic checker, and check and see whats up. but if anyone knows what it could be, help me out. thanks. i have a 2000 si, obd2 ecu

ok, so i replaced the dizzy cap and rotor. it started, but still had trouble idling. it revved past 3,400 like it should. but then it dies. sooo, anyone know what the problem could be now? then it wouldnt start again. could it be my iavc ? or my mass flow sensor? about 3 hrs later, i started it. it idles like it should, and then i drive it around the block and it runs fine. anyone know what happened to me today?

ok well I'm not sure about this 'static" sound, but my car died in 2nd gear and would not spark. The culprit was the coil. I would recommend checking to see if you have a spark, and if not replace the coil.
