Default What year are my CRX seats from?

Alright guys, I have a set of CRX seats sitting in my basement, which I've had for a while. Problem is I have no idea what year CRX they came from. How can I tell, just from the seats themselves, what year they're from? I don't have the rails. Is there a way to tell just from the pan? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
-Mark D.

to tell if its a 88' seat is look at the rails, if one of the rails moves freely its a 88. on a 89-91 seat both rails get locked and only move when you pull the release

OK, good news... ...I did find the rails/sliders when I got home. (Note: It sucks when you have multiple sets of rails/sliders from multiple hondas all tossed into one big pile.)

Anyway, here's a pic of the bottom of the seat (excuse all of the crap, and the kitten in the background), as well as a pic of the only marking I could find on the bottom. It says: SH2-89 which leads me to believe they're either 89's or 90's.

Anyone?

Post pics of the fabric. At first glance they look like 88-89 to me.

errr... no can do my friend. (unless you mean the black bolster / headrest fabric.)

The center sections were removed and reupholstered in tweed. If it helps any, they did not/do not have that CRX logo embroidered into the black just beneath the headrests.

If the black part will help you, here's a shot of it (sorry, it's the best I could do with this shotty digicam).

to neozero's comment, I can confirm now that the lever operates both sides of the slider. Neither side slides freely without the lift of the lever.

From this top view photo on the right, it's an 90-91 Crx seat:

Blaak is right. Red pin stripe without the words "crx" or "crx vtec" are usdm 90-91 crx si seats.

Yeah, I'll post it up tonight if it'll help ID them.

...I suppose I should have added that the inserts WERE the sivler striped. There was no red pinstriping on the seats.

I'll see if I can search and find a pic of similar pattern on someone else's CRX.

ok, just did a quick google search and came up with what I think they were before I had them re-done. (Again, from what I remember, this is what they looked like prior to the reupholstering.)

then they were 89, if they were silver striped, and both rails moved together.

I wish mine was an 89 just for that reason, I always take my seats out of my 88 to shampoo the carpets once a month and lining the rails back up is a real bitch sometimes.

More then I'd like to admit. I had them done about 5 years ago, and it was a little over $600. The guy did a great job, and did rebuild all of the bolsters/seat foam, and I did get an extra yard of the tweed so I could have rear seat inserts done with the same fabric. ....but either way, I think the job was a little expensive for the work. (not much though, I'd say it's a $500 job all day long).

lots of work involved in removing covers, taking them apart, and restitching them all back together. like i said to another member here, it would have been less expensive to recover the entire seat, but the oem black was in great shape, and I really liked the look of it on the tweed, so I took the dive and went for it. ...a shame though that they've been sitting in the basement for 5 years, and I'm never going to end up using them. Oh well.
