Default 1990 CRX Si, wring B16 ?'s

I am getting the engine and have been reading the HASport explanation of the four wires that have to be changed. Can anyone better explain what they are trying to say. Do I have to tap into the harnesses going into the car? Any help would be appreciated or a website where I can read the wiring instructions myself.

I've heard the Si is the easiest to wire, so is the HASport wiring harness really worth 79 bucks. I have some extra money and if it is I would probably buy it. Thanks.

last months issue of import tuning has detailed instructions and diagram for the dpfi-mpfi wiring, made by someone from Hasport. I can maybe get it scanned tonight and post it for you, if you still need it. But if you want to spring for the $79, I guess its one less thing to worry about. I havent done any wiring personally but from what I heard, its a piece of cake.

Basically you run the four wires from the sensors through one of the grommets in the firewall and into the passenger footwell. Then plug them into the corresponding slots on the ecu plugs.

From left to right looking at where the wires plug into the back of the plugs

Plug A.....................
1-3-5-7-9-11-13-15-17-19
2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18

Plug B....................
1-3-5-7-9-11-13-15-17-19
2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16-18-20

Plug C
1-3-5-7-9-11-13-15
2-4-6-8-10-12-14-16

Secondary O2- C8
Vtec solenoid A8
Vtec Oil Pressure B5
Knock Sensor B19


You will have to cut existing wires at B5 and B19.

I have the hasport si to SIR conversion harness for 40$.. they sent me an extra one and told me I should just sell it.

40$+shipping.

i used a trailer wire harness for 7 bucks.. and went to the junkyard to pick up the connectors for free. then soldered it all together.

91 Civic: That helps out a ton. Thanks.
What exactly does the HASport harness do then. It seems like it isn't worth the money unless you have never tapped into a wiring harness. Anyway, thanks for the help, now I just have to wait for the engine and I will be set.

the hasport harness has the 4 plugs ready to go with the wires together in a sleeve ready to run through your firewall.. it also has the correct pins already on it to plug right into your ecu plugs and one ground for the one plug that uses a ground.

so, no. you don't need it BUT if you have the extra cash it save time. I'm not one of those people who like to be without a car.. I want things done NOW if you know what I'm saying.
