Default Good Method to compress valve springs

So i bought a head the other night and today i was goin to compress the valve springs to take everything apart i found it really difficult to get my valve spring compressor ontop of some of the retainers beacause the shape of the head; is there a good method to do this?

easiest way to pop off the keepers is to tap the top of the retainer with a socket and mallet. only some spring compressor tools will work to reinstall, which one are you using?

yeah i've played with those before, its not really designed to use on our heads. you might need to invest in a snap-on/matco tool for the dohc heads. i have the snap-on one with a lever on it, there is also another tool that i've seen work pretty well offered by either company as well.
