Default Swap ideas

Whats up guys, im looking into buying a 92-95 civic, maybe even up to 00. I was originally thinking of doing an h22 swap but now im having second thoughts. Im not really sure if it would be worth it. While the buget is a concern, its not the biggest.

Im thinking h22, or b18c boosted. Any of recommendations? Im just looking for a fun and fast car to drive, im not trying to race it, autox, anything like that.

The H22 is a very nice swap, but its not that good for a daily driver.
Its massive torque likes to break things, and the axles bind from not sitting perfect.

Boost any B series and you'll get the fun u r looking for.

If a budget isnt the biggest concern, id say go for a h2b. Any motor swap is only as reliable as the person doing it. The hp and tq of a h22 with the gearing of a good b-series trans, whats not to like, and if you boost that....well it speaks for itself. People may say the h22 will terribly wiegh the front down but i think its around 75 pounds so its not really too much. but that me

if budget isnt your main concern and you want something fun to drive, get yourself a 5th or 6th gen hatch and drop in a k20a, and like z6hatchboy said, h2b with a proper install can be very fun and reliable

Depending on the engine that comes in your car. Most likely it will be a d series if your getting a 92-95 hatch.

D series turbo builds are SICK
http://www.d-series.org (great site)

D engines are way more cost effective. You get more for the money you put into it. A full build kit for your bottom end would be around 400.. the kit would let you take the d single cam boosted up to 400whp with a good tune

hmm alright, thanks guys. I was looking into h2b but it confuses the **** outta me, and wouldnt the price be comparable to boosting a b18c, maybe even a little more? Btw, im not doing the installation myself. I will also look into boosting a d.

Also, buget is a concern, but not that big of one. Basically i want to spend around 10k, maybe a little less.

Car: <2500
Engine: >2000
Turbo: ?
Labor:
Misc. parts: 1000-2000

So i mean, its either:

h22 swap - no boost
b18c1 swap - boost maybe?
stock - boost?
different b series swap - boost?
