Default resurfaceing a head

i gota get my b16 head resurfaced. i was wondering do i got take out all the valves to do it? i wanted to get it hot tanked too. since im going that far should i just go ahead and rebuild it? new springs and seals?? also is there a write up on how to take out the rocker arms?

I always strip the head down when getting any machine work done, abrasive contaminants hide in small places. Your best bet is to get a helms manual for a b16a civic or del sol. Lots of good info and pictures.

Why? is the headgasket leaking?

That IMO is the only reason to re-surface.

I disagree, resurfacing the head during a rebuild is a good way to ensure a fresh, flat surface for the new gasket to seal on. Most heads straighten up in .003-.006 if theyre in OK condition.
