Very good video of the building of the Daytona 675. I know you Americans will have some issues hearing english from a mic, don't worry, just watch the pictures!

Eh, personality is for ugly chicks.

Local dealer wanted 10,995 OTD for an 08 SE, not bad considering a lot of people pay 11 OTD for most of the big fours 600's around here.

Was a bit cramped but then again I am on every bike at 6'3".

Wow, man, if that's true then you people are getting the shaft. Like whoa.

And last time I checked, personality wasn't put together in a factory.

Yet "personality" is mentioned in damn near every motorcycle review.

But yes, 11 isn't uncommon here, though I would never pay over 9 OTD for any 600. A lot of it is military guys who dont really care what they pay, or new riders who just want the newest hottest thing. A friend of mine payed 13 OTD for his 07 600rr last year.

But prices are still a little inflated.....thats the cost of having a riding season thats 364 days long .

I once read that Brad Pitt rode a Monster because it was the coolest thing ever.

Just because it's published, doesn't mean it's worth paying homage to.

Whether you do or don't fantasize about brad pitt is your business. I was merely presenting the fact that "personality" is commonly mentioned in motorcycle articles. Usually referring to motor characteristics unique to the motorcycle, maybe not the individual motorcycle, but at least the model. Or just that mysterious x factor among motorcycles. Whatever cannot be explained by numbers.

Ask someone why they like their v-twin. I bet somewhere among the list is "it's got personality". Or maybe another variant, "it has more character".

Point being, it's slang. Have you ever used the word "cool" to refer to something you like? Was it actually cold?

I know what the slang usage is. Would you like to move on to arithmatic next?

And I maintain that just because some magazine writers and motorcycle jockeys use the term, does not make it appropriate or accurate.

Bikes that have character are built. They're not put together in a factory.

But that's as far as I go on the matter. If you get it, great. If not, maybe you will some day.

Maybe you missed where he wasnt talking to you?

Come back when you can make an intelligent comment and not go straight for the personal attacks. You're as predictable and boring as the sunrise.

Hey, look at that plastic wrapped sportbike that looks like every other plastic wrapped sportbike on the road, now that ***** got some character! Wait, lets put the same mods on the bike that every other sportbike rider buys for even more character!

RJ - now waiting for graphite to make an assinine comment about riding a bike in the yard and drinking bud light

Don't want my opinion? don't read it. Are you Asteele2's boyfriend, or guardian of some sort? I see knockout did just what his name entails, but I didn't assume that you'd be in here to back up your boy toy so quickly.

The Daytona has personality in many ways, from the styling, to the handling and overall feel. Personality is doing it differently, and doing it better.

stopped by socal triumph today to look at the street3 and speed3.

i like the lightness of the street, but i'm sure i'd appreciate the power of the speed. i think the ultimate selling point might be the suspension, as the speed3 comes with much better equipment--and the price difference is going to be about $800 out the door somehow.

~$700 for an elka 2-way if you want to get fancy. $60 for a new 2.25 ID spring from ERS or hypercoil.

the basic problem with the daytona's suspension is that it is ridiculously oversprung from the factory (with 2 up riding in mind).

properly sprung rear shock completely transforms the handling and road comfort of the bike. it was my favorite mod.

$800 difference out the door? How is that? Were you comparing an 07 Speed with an 08 Street? I think my 07 Speed was around $9300 when I bought it late last year and MSRP was $9900. There is at least a $2000 difference in MSRP pricing.

I really need to do that as my Speed Triple definitely isn't meant for someone my size. There aren't many threads about changing the rear spring on the Speed Triple sites that I have seen. I will have to check out this ERS and hypercoil.
