Body repair?
My civic has a bit of paint fading and rust (just one little rust hole). My step-dad suggested that I should get the car looking nice before I make it go fast. He said I should be able to get it done for around $600. I called about 4 different body shops in my area and they all said that the minimum would be $1200 just to paint it. Should I keep looking or is this the real price of the job?
u in wisconsin...i used to live in minnesota on job relocation...yeah its expensive out there cuz of no competition...but try maaco...no joke. $200 will fix ur hole and paint the body...not inside nor jams. i think the paint is only good for 2 years though.
I lived in Superior WI and I had a little rust on my prelude and no bodyshop up there would touch it, They wont warranty any rust work, not even for a week. but to answer your question, 1200 sounds about right for paint and rust repair.
I went to maaco yesterday and they quoted me at $778 w/supreme paint job. I saw some of their other work and it looked very good. So now I am going to have to bust my *** to get the money but it will be worth it.
If you care about going fast, maybe it's not a good idea to have a nice body. You know, to keep the punks away. I would try flat paint to save you a few dollars, and fix the rust spot.
you have to remember, sometimes you pay for what you get. that is a big task for a body shop to repair rust and paint the car, so there is most likely going to be a hefty tag on that one.
