Default Need a new turbo precision pt67 failed Which BW turbo would best suit my setup

Hi,

Basicly thats it.

I have a pt67 journal bearing turbo that **** on me in about 1300 miles, from my understanding precison has changed the way that they are makeing there turbos and many people are having issues with this. (that is here say)

Now im looking to get away from Garrett turbos for a little while and try out the new hottness of the BW turbo line.

Which turbo should i get that is the equalevent of a pt67, gt40 i wouldent even mind haveing it spool a bit faster then the pt67.

So any insite to which BW turbo i should lean tord would be nice.
Thanks
Zach

I'd really look at the S366 Borg-Warner. That will do quite the job that can replace the PT67 that you already have. Please give me a PM for specifications and other STUFF. One person who comes to mind with their last application was Tepid1. He has had fabulous results with the S366. I believe This was at about 12psi-13psi.

Here's a photo of one of them. Coating is an extra amenity. This is T4 flanged, but T3 v-band is also available. I like the exhaust wheels of the BW a bit more for the top end than the PT67. The PT67 uses a P-Trim 2.944" (74.77mm) as opposed to the larger BW wheel which is over 3.15" (80mm) for the exhaust wheel.
The A/R measurements are a bit different that what Garrett uses, but that is only because the volute of the turbine housing is wider than Garrett. Same math, different volume. For the T4 application, it uses a .83A/R 3.25" divided housing that uses a unique v-band clamp system to adapt. For the T3 v-band, it is the standard 3" v-band, but the larger 69 trim exhaust wheel (there are 2 options) is used best with the .70 A/R T3 V-band (don't let the number fool you, this holds the larger exhaust wheel, even moreso than the .85A/R option that is available.)

Typically warranty issues don't come only from "abuse". There are many factors including the oil setup of the turbocharger on th car that can void many such warranties. Only after a diagnosis from the manufactuer/Master Distribtor will a warranty possibly be considered.

PRECISION love to blame the customer for their turbo failure so the warranty is no good on their turbos anyways.
I have 2 PTE turbos failed on me, the first one started smoking and then the turbine wheel snapped off at 20 psi. the second one same thing, compressor wheel bolt broke off, they blame ithe first one on dirty oil because fed it from the sandwich plate, and second one, on oil starvation(my car puts out 70 psi oil pressure at WOT how is that oil starvation?). they refuse to repair it.
I change to a full garrett t67.
precision turbo
