Default Need Help Identifying Errors

Ok I recently bought a 00 Si with an ITR swap...dont know if its an obd2a or 2b ITR but its running a P2T ecu and there are a couple of plugs not pluged into in the engine wire harness. Is this normal ? Also I decided to do the ecu error check with the paperclip trick and I couldnt read the blinks so can someone help me there too...here is a clip I took so someone can help me. Thanx

I am pretty sure you got a code
7-14-17-54

Does this car even run?

7 is for tps-14 for Iac-17 for vss-54 crank fluaction sensor

if it is not a usdm type r then it probally doesnt have a crank fluaction sensor but if it does then you will see the wires coming out of the timing cover behind thecrank and will come up by the alternator. but looks like you got some wiring to check. if there is anything I might be able to help you with let me know and we might be able to knock them out one at a time.

Its a JDM Type R and yes the car does run but it studders every now and then. The speedo dont work so I kinda figured the vss is messed up or not working anymore. Also I read about the Crank Fluaction Sensor error and read up on a fix for that. I was just wondering on the wiring since like I stated before there are a couple of plugs not pluged in and just noticed some vacuum lines not even connected. Anyone got a diagram or something on it ?

as far as vaccum lines are concerned you are going to have to see what they go to and if that is still used or not. of course any vac lines disconnected at the manifold would cause a vac leak and cause driveabillity problems and need to be capped off if not used. and I wouldnt worry about the plugs untill you find that some of your wiring problems are because of them. Do you have a multimeter and do you feel comfortable with electrical work or have basic knowlage of it. my second question would be in order for us to diag I would need to know chasis, engine (which we already know), and if you know what wiring harness is used both on the engine and inside the vehicle would be very benificial to us getting the right wiring diagrams.

There are a couple lines not connected (actually no hose are there) from the manifold so its a given that there is a leak I just dont know how they go connected so I need a vacuum line diagram if available. Also the inside vehicle harness is the stock Si one (obd2b) and as for the engine I would say either the Si or JDM ITR not so sure, anyway in knowing ?

I also see a 1-blink before the 7. Usually an O2 sensor on USDM.

You have 6 codes. What plug did you say is not hooked up because this many codes will not allow you to run correctly. You have:

Code 1 - O2 sensor (make sure it is a 4wire o2 should be located at the bottom of your header. This is not a code for the 2nd o2 usually but make sure that is there as well.

Code 7 - TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) Make sure this is not crossed with your MAP sensor. Located at the back of your throttle body. It is a 3 wire plug.

Code 10 - IAT (Intake Air Tempature) Since you have a 99-00 SI i believe the IAT was in the intake arm. ITR is located in the intake manifold (white sensor). You need to convert from the SI sensor style to the ITR style.

Code 14 - IAC (Idle Air Control Valve) Could just be dirty and needs a cleaning, these codes are tricky. Located at the back of the manifold, has a 2 wire plug.

Code 17 - VSS (Speed Sensor) Could be bad for so many different reasons. 3 wire plug located on the back side of the transmission.

Code 54 - Crank Flucuation Sensor. 2 wire plug, located next to the crank. ITR does not have one. You have to jump it with the Cylinder Position sensor to get the code to go away.

I didnt read everyones response as people were not getting the codes right to begin with.

if you just have extra vac ports on the manifold then just cap them. its a itr so it doesnt have butterflys so theres no diaphram for that. pretty much just make sure that you got vaccum going to the pressure regulator, if you have it the canister on the firewall, hell that is all I can really think of. but like I said just look for componets in the engine bay that may require vaccum and decide if you need it and use one of your ports.
