Got a bitching session going on with a brake house, they say I ordered the wrong rotors for my SI by saying it was a 1993 SI vtec, which it is d16z6 engine, its not a twincam though, which are the rotors he sent me. Was the twincam engine available for 93 del sols ? or was it introduced a little later than 93 ?

 

There are three del Sol models: S, Si, VTEC. The VTEC (which had a B16A3) was introduced in 1994. In 1993, the first year, there were only S and Si.

 

There are 3 different del sol models.

S
SI
VTEC

S and Si was available for all del sols.
VTEC was added in 94 and stopped when del sols stopped production in 97.

S is the D15
Si is the D16z6
VTEC is the B16

BTW, the del Sol S had a 1.6L engine in 96/97 (D16Y7)

93-95 S = D15B7
96-97 S = D16Y7
93-95 Si = D16Z6
96-97 Si = D16Y8
94-95 VTEC = B16A3
96-97 VTEC = B16A2

IIRC they gave the Del Sol the B16A3/2 to boost sales/keep it popular.
