Default kind of dumb q but oh well......

Well my q is does one actually benefit from removing the ac system? I mean I know a lot of people remov a/c power steering too. But is it actually worth it? I mean I currently have 93 eg8 and a 97 ej8 and im pretty much bored out of my *** and was thinking of removing the a/c system to see if it actually helps. But I tought I might as well ask before I do remove it.

the gains is minimal not even worth it....but it does free alot of space and more room for non ac p/s turbo setup...i took mine out but regret it right now...100 degree weather sucks.

true, power gain is minimal, but you lose about 70 pounds aswell and in most cases they are removed for a boosted application.

It's only worth it if you're going F/I, like said before.

Well then I guess ill keep it on. Its just that my car is slow as *****(yeah its I D I know its suppose to be) but my JDM D15B feels more peppy than my freaken Ej8 D16y8. What gives? Is it the wieght diffirences between the two generations or what? Kinda pisses me off.

with as little power and lack of torque these engines make... yes... 100 lbs makes a damn huge difference...

I reinstalled my a/c into my coupe and it took a lil bit of the powerband away. I can DEFINATELY feel it!!! Before I had a unorthodox single belt crank pulley and now I got the stock pulley with the all the a/c stuff and it made a big difference IMO. Wish it weren't so hot here in texas or I'd yank it back out!
