Default Roof mount tow hooks

I'm in need of a roof mount tow hook and was curious how these are actually attached to the roll cage/car.

Are most welding a tab to the main hoop and then welding the steel tube to the tab? Or are you guys welding the sleeve directly to the roll bar? Whats the best way to mount it?

Any pictures would be great!

Also, wheres the cheapest place to buy the "kit"?

We mounted mine through the front end. Seems to be more in line with the tow vehicle. Got mine from Jerry Bickel also!

How are you all attaching it to the cage? You aren't drilling through the bar, inserting the sleeve and then welding it are you? Seems that would be detrimental to the integrity of the cage.

A long time ago I saw a 90 degree type of tab mount that was welded where the hoop and front down bar joined.

I just want to make sure that I am mounting it the best possible way thats not gong to mess anything up when it gets tugged on.

Thanks guys

Edit:Actually we welded it on the tube and the strut tower so that the tube would not get accidentally ripped off. Also gussets are a good idea. That tow vehicle was awesome. It had plenty of room for crewmembers:
