to s2k owners with loud exhausts...
does it bother you during long drives with loud exhausts?
like, ive owned my S for a good 6 months now(stock exhaust), and i already feel like the engine sound has gotten to my head, in long drives. sometimes i find it annoying. and what makes it worse is the clutch buzz i have.
so again, during long drives, does it bother you whatsoever?

No it doesn't bother me. If a stock exhaust bothers you, You'll have issues with any aftermarket exhaust, and you might want to think about selling and going with a car with a bit more luxury.
And the clutch buzz shouldn't bother you unless your engine braking.

i love hearing the drone of the spoon n1 @ 4000rpms on the highway...well at cruising speeds its not really that loud, until you accelerate/decelerate.

I would say the only time you hear the clutch buzz is when you're engine breaking. Or at least that's the only time I've heard it. On normal driving and accelerating and cruising, there shouldn't be a clutch buzz.

honestly, there are times that I wish my S was silent, such as during highway cruising with a girl in the car, and in the morning/late night when I just don't want to hear the car at all.
Also sucks when there's a cop nearby. It's impossible to make the car quiet.
I try to limit my S driving to when I really want to make some noise. Other times, a bone stock 01 civic will do

btw spoon n1, or any 63mm single is pretty quiet. Any dual is livable with on a daily basis. Invidia 70mm single w/ test pipe has a headache causing drone at freeway speeds.

oh my fault for assuming your english was bad. i didn't realize that letting the car slow down while in gear was called "engine breaking." yes, this is when i get my clutch buzz thanks to my ACT clutch disc as well.

The drone bothers me sometimes but that's it. I am going to get a test pipe to kill that portion. I don't mind loud at all but droning exhausts in anything have always bugged the **** out of me.
^ same this is why my gf doesn't typicly get in my car. I [freak]ing love my exhaust buddy club specIII Berk header and tp my shot is loud and sounds awesome well atleast I think so and that's all that matters.

What exhaust do you have? I installed my invidia 70TP along with my catback when i had it and it still had a terrible drone. I doubt that a test pipe would eliminate it. It'd have to move the pitch up (no bass) for it to be completely gone.

me too! it's not really a drone but it sounds nice in the s2k's "drone range".
that drone sound is nothing compared to invidia. imo too loud

You must be hardcore. To me it kinda kills the mood when you have to keep repeating things to your girl over the loud drone. It also kinda discourages any type of conversation because you're half yelling.

exactly and when a good song comes up, and i'm going up a hill on the freeway, it's retarded. It's okay though. She volunteers to drive more often

the only time it gets a bit loud is when i'm pulling in 6th - like up a slight incline on a motorway - all the rest of the time, i hardly notice it. It's a good volume - thats with a HKS system, J's intake and a test pipe. I don't have to raise my voice to talk to anyone next to me unless the stereo is on loud, just normal conversation volume.
If you're getting pretty old then maybe it's a bit loud for you, but that's OK, your ears will probably start packing up soon..

not as loud as some, but still pretty loud - i've upgraded exhausts on a lot of different cars, and this one is up there in terms of volume - i think it's the test pipe that really opens it up though. Still totally acceptable in the cabin unless you're heavy on the throttle at fairly low revs.

I have a Tracy Sports 70mm ti dual that is loud and after an hour of spirited driving with some other enthusiasts ( http://videos.streetfire.net/v...4.htm) I developed a headache that lasted for 2 days. I now use ear plugs (not legal) when traveling more than a few minutes.
