Default Wideband permanently installed...how long do you O2 sensors last?

I picked up a plx m300 a few months back but installed it only about 3 weeks ago. I have it in my car permanently and I have used it for a total of maybe 400 miles. It is now only reading a max of 16.8 and a min of 13.8 afr so I think the sensor has taken a dump. I just bought a replacement but if its only going to last a couple thousand miles of use then I might just uninstall it for now because they are pricy. How long have you guys been running your wideband sensors daily driving?

Check your ground or something. Is it reading accurately while in that range?

let me guess, the sensor is not 24" or more from the turbo?

How close is it to your turbine outlet? I hope you don't pay more than $78 for them.

Mines about 18" down from the turbo.... I run ALOT of leaded gas through it, and Get about 6K per sensor... Theyll get lazy and start refreshing slowly, then hang out on the lean end... If its refreshing quickly and reading rich, check your power...

Its about 18in from the turbo i think. I have to check that again. Should it be at least 24in from the turbo?

I'll check the ground when I get home. On decel it used to read lean because the injectors shut off but now it reads a max of 16.8 when I boost it only goes down to 13.8. It is very laggy too!

I first noticed this on the drive home from the track on the 31st. The lowest it would read was mid 12's and mid 17's was the highest. I didnt drive it until 3 days ago and I noticed it was now worse.

how much leaded **** you run through it??? It WILL dramatically decrease the life... compounded by it being to close if it is.

None! I've never run leaded fuel. All driving and racing has been done on 91oct.

you've gotta move the sensor further back in the exhaust. i used to have mine real close like maybe 7 inches from the turbine and it got to the point where i smoked a sensor in like 200 miles. now i run mine about 6 inches behind the oil pan like right under the xmember. last sensor i had lasted a good 5-6000 miles.

its better to be safe than sorry and buy a new sensor, then move its position. its not worht toasting a motor over a 60 dollar o2 sensor

The sensor that came with my Lc-1 kit lasted about 900 miles before it got stuck around 14.7-14.1 at all times. The sensor is right before the flex on my downpipe, behind the oil pan.

I bought a replacement bosh and so far it's been fine, about 1500 miles on it.

ive been running nothing but leaded gas on my engine for the past year and a half or more and my plx m300 and bosch sensor are still working perfectly. my sensor is 24" downstream from the turbo.

ive had mine (bosch lsu 4.2 with lc1) installed for about 9 months. Was just on the dyno and it was reading exactly the same.

ive calibrated it two or three times since install.

Why would the sensor go out prematurely if installed too close to the turbo?

i cant remmeber how to calibrate it... i remember u ground it out, and then do something... with the sensor in the air uninstalled...

check out the innovate website, there is a user manual for the LC1 on there

the sensor will wear prematurly if it is too close to the turbo because it will get too hot.
