Default Ingnition Question.

A couple of years back I bought a 2002 Civic here in florida from the auction. I send the car to my sister that lives in Panama (the country). Well to make the story short, she lost her last key last night, and went to the honda dealer down there (bahia motors), and they are ripping her off. They want $50 to cut the key, and $300 to program it.

Is there any way that I can program the key myself? Or if I buy this from Ebay, would it be just a plug and play, or do I still need the local dealer to program it?

never mind guys I found the answer.
You need a special computer to get in the ECU, and then you'll need a code to get into the immobilizer part of it. In other words, not possible for me to do it.
