Default ls/vtec with ctr pistons

would it be safe to run ctr pistons in an ls/vtec with b16 head...what would the comp ratio be??? would it need race gas? and would there be a way to drop the comp ratio?

it will be pretty high, probably in the high 12:1 if not 13:1 range, aka not pump gas-able unless you have 100 octane around your house
