Downpipe elbow keeps coming loose. Loctite? Which type?
I have had my downpipe elbow come loose about 10 times now. Last time I took it all off, used new bolts and lock washers and torqued them down to about 40-45 ft/Lbs. A few months later and it's back to leaking again, spewing exhaust all over my white engine bay.
I keep thinking Loctite, but I don't know if any of it can withstand the hot side temps.
Any ideas? Thanks for any advice you can give.
FWIW, the car actually runs like crap with the exhaust leak, idle issues and bouncing boost.

The highest strength and most temp. resistant threadlocker I have found is made by permatex and that only holds until 450F then becomes basically useless. I would recommend something called "boltlocks" if you can find them anywhere.

They're probably the best idea I could offer at the moment. I've seen others that look different than the above picture. How they work is the rectangular flat on the side is bent up onto one of the flats of the bolt you're fastening down. then the other pointed flats are bent down onto the surface or item the bolt is going into. It locks the bolt from turning in any direction if installed properly.

I just posted these in the other thread about bolts coming loose on here but they work...

You can try the cooper lock nuts or you can use the oem honda 90 exh manifold bolts. Ive been using them for 2 years on this setup no probs.
I just looked at the stage 8 bolt site. 40 bucks each i think im reading wrong. Worse comes to worse drill the head and lock wire it
