I bought the car for 300 bucks knowing the car smoked bad and needed a new engine. So I started it and it would not rev. I checked everything. Then said screw it and put my D16A6 in there and it started right up, but my a6 header wouldnt mate up to the exhaust so I put the cx header and cat on the a6 and it wouldnt rev and had a rough idle. Just like before. So I said duh cat's bad. Took the cat off and it looked like a flat piece of sheet metal in there, no wafers visible at all. Took a giant drill bit to it and presto runs perfectly. I just hope this helps and saves someone the trouble I went through. Thanx for listening

 

wow, thats what mine did. i'm gonna look in the cat and see if i see that flat peice. i just yanked my motor out too i was driving when it happened though and the revs just kept getting lower and lower, even though i had it floored.

 

I wish more people did this. Way too many people post problems, but never say how they ended up solving them
