Default How to tell the radiator fan comes on???

When we do ECM/PCM idle learn procedure, we need hold the engine speed at 3,000 rpm with no load (in Park or Neutral) until the radiator fan comes on. But how to tell the fan comes on? Will there be a sound or some other signals? thank you guys.

Yes you should be able to hear it kick on...Or you could have someone stand infront of the car and watch for it to kick on. Once it comes on, you should be able to distinguish the sound of the fan spinning.

open the hood, and wait for the fan to turn on. You'll hear it.

Why even listen for it, open the hood and LOOK at it. When it starts spinning and you feel a blast of warm air on your face from peering over the engine bay.... its on.

your engine has to be warmed up/hot so then it will turn on... just let your car be in idle and just rev it or something... that's what I do when I coolant flush.
