what kind of oil do you use?
for the people who do their own oil changes, what kind of oil do you use for an oil change? I have an EM1 and am attempting to do my first oil change, and would like to know which is best. I'm hoping to change the oil every 5k miles with the proper equipment. Thanks
Personally I use Castrol Syntec w/ PureOne or Mobil filter. Any reputable brand should be fine though. Ive heard bad things about fram oil filters which is why I avoid them.

amsoil synthetic..but looking to switch to Rotella T synthetic which is a slightly higher weight but real good from what I have been told. Best part is it's cheaper at Walmart than Royal Purple and Amsoil for 4 quarts!!!!!

OEM Filter is best. Royal purple is best, and most expensive. What area do you live? 5w30 is good for hot weather. 10w30 is what i have in my Dx (Dont ask).
Ive used Mobil One and Quaker. I like both.

ive used castrol gtx 5w-30 in my jdm b16 for the past 15kmi and fram filter no problems, I have herd if you use synthetic from a regular oil it will clean all the lube off the bearings and you could run into problems not sure how true that is. my 2Cents crastrol gtx ftw

i use to use fram filters and had no problem with them. I have them on my gf's y8 as well and no complaints here.
i'm currently using 5w-30 mobil-1 synthetic with a hamp oil filter on my nearly stock y8. You dont have to run synthetic on any DD D-series but i choose to.

i change oil in four cars every 3k (family mechanic) and ive used fram filters with no problems at all. my dad runs pennzoil in everthing. i have been running pennzoil 5w-30 high mileage(173,000 on d16) but am changing to valvoline 5 30 synthetic high mileage this change. figured id give a synthetic a try and didnt want to pay twenty some dollars for mobil 1 for a worn out daily driver.
i run royal purple 5w30 in my civic with a honda oil filter, and i run mobil 1 5w30 with a honda oil filter in my wifes civic
also use honda MTF in both cars as of right now, going to try royal purple mtf in mine and see how it works
