Default Alternator belt shreded

After a night at the track, i pop my hood the next morning to find my alternator belt had been shredded. It only shredded on the side closes to the block. So basically half the belt is gone. Never had anything like it happen, maybe it was just a bad belt. Just seeing if anything weird could of happened to make it do it.

Any ideas on why this would of happened?

Thanks in advance!

Damn, thats weird, Im willing to bet it was just a shitty belt, possibly over tensioned too...

Usually that happens if its over tensioned or the pulleys aren't perfectly aligned. In rare cases a rock kicked & sucked in up could do that, putting that part of the belt under lots of tension.
