Stock throttle body is fine!! Unless you have large cams and alot of compression, a large throttle body on a b16 is a waste. I ran a 65mm on my b16 with skunk manifold and only noticed a small gain top end. (8000Rpm+) Throttle reponse and midrange was terriable. When I sold my 65mm i ended up just throwing on a d-series Tb and it runs fine. Two mos ago I ran 14.60 @ 94.85 with this setup!!!

AMEN TO THAT!!!, all the dynos I have seen on throttle bodies show little if any gain, all on moderately built engines. It seems to have caught on as a fad tho, as I always see people spending two, three hundred, on aftermarket TB's on a bolt on car...

If you really want to get a bigger TB, just bore out a GS-R one to 64mm to match the bore of the manifold... http://www.maxbore.com

So is that to say that bottle necking wouldn't be an issue with a stock tb on a skunk 2 or euro r and maybe a mild top end setup ?

Bottlenecking is hardly an issue on the intake side (intake, TB, IM) of the head, at least on stock or mildly built engines.

Throwing on a ridiculously oversized throttle body on these sorts of setups will hurt your flow quality and velocity into the plenum (flow contraction).

on a b16, a 68mm tb is a good combo with the p30 im (small plenum). the 16 is picky. going to a larger style plenum will shift ur peak hp very close to 9k, with a stage 1 cam. and even then, u will be sacrificing a good quantity of that ounce or so of wtq the baby 16 has. also more specs of the build would help

I ran the 65mm Tb with the skunk manifold and w/o it. The manifold had a more noticable top end power gain, than the TB. The 65mm on bottem end and midrange was horriable. I ran the same 1/4 time with the 65mm than i did with the d-series TB that i have on there. My car car also has alot more midrange and no pre-vtec hiccup!!
