2001 EX V6 Stalling. HELP!
I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX V6. For the past couple of months it has been doing some really weird things. When I'm at a complete stop (red light or stop sign) it will sometimes completely shut off. All lights on the dashboard will come on (I'm pretty sure the engine light does NOT come on). If the radio is on, it stays on. Now, if I'm driving, the car will sometimes slow down and then go back up. (It's hard to explain.) The RPM goes way down and then right back up. It probably only lasts 1 second. I have had it where it stalls on me while slowing down and not at a complete stop which is kind of scary because I then cannot turn the wheel and get over to the side. Power steering down?
I talked to a friend and he said it sounded like their was water in the tank so I put dry gas in the tank and that did not work. So I took it into the local service station and they hooked it up to their computers and could not find anything. Either they or I changed the air filter, replaced the air intake duct and had the alternator checked and is working well. After ALL of that, it STILL was doing the exact same thing.
So then, I decided to take it into the Honda dealership. The hooked the car up to their computers and couldn't find anything. They decided the first thing they would try is changing the titanium spark plugs. That has STILL not worked. I drove maybe 4 miles before it did it again.
I'm so frustrated. Does ANYONE have any other suggestions? I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thank-you,
Stephanie
