Default ZC HELP

91 civic hatch, blew up my a6 so i put a zc in it,
all grounds are hooked up..
no CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS
fuel is good,
timing is dead zero.
when i pull a plug to check spark and turn it over its like it
sparks then miss then spark like spark... spark
while the motor goes waaa.... waaa... waaa...
turns over and everything just wont start.
done many swaps and this is my first problem.
tried 3 different coils out of running cars.
also another question.... could throwing a rod thru a block ruin my spark plugs?
i pulled plugs checked and cleaned gap to .044
please help its been 3 days and i need to go back to work

It is possible if the rod stretched enough to let the piston bump the valves/plugs you could have damaged the plug, but I think you would be able to see damage to that plug from the cylinder that threw the rod. If you are using a new Dizzy, I would try your old one just for fun one time even if it doesn't bolts up stick it in the head and try it because that sounds like a loose rotor button or one of the sensors in the dizzy not working properly.

i know about the 2 white wire thing, i've tried that,
dizzy is the old one, and it was off the motor that blew up, and it was in perfect running condition.
is it possible that the clutch or something was wrong and wont let it start?

also no CEL's and if it was something in the dizzy it'd throw a code

1342 clock wise starting at bottom left,
and 1234 belt to tranny

It's the same firing order regardless of which ZC it is.

Check the following
1. Check for spark when you turn over the engine - pull a spark plug wire and ground it with a long screw driver to see if it sparks or hear it spark
- to check if the distributor is good - coil or ingnitor could be bad
2. Do not use old spark plugs unless you are sure they good there cheap enough you can check the same way by pulling out a spark plug wire and pulling a spark plug then stick spark plug in the wire to if you see a spark.

- if you see a spark with the spark plug wires the distributor is good
- if you see a spark with a spark plug stuck in the wire the spark plug is good if not the spark plug is bad

process of elmination let me know if you need any more help IM me

you should get a muti meter from SEARS or something or even a cheap analog one so you can debug better and to test the fuel pump and a good repair manual I perfer honda factory but others will work

update....
turns out the guy who had it before me tightened down the valve clearance
to .004 intake and .002 exhaust.... thus leaving the valve part way open all the time....
=
really low compression.
re adjusted the valve clearance to d16a6 specs .011 intake .009 exhaust...
and BOOM
first click it turns over and starts
never ever woulda thought about it but... it worked and runs great
thanks for all the info...
btw it is a SOHC
