Default throttle body tune up

I put a AEM short ram intake on my 98 EX and a mechanic friend of mine told me he sold give me a throttle body tune up. He turned a screw on the throttle body and did something with the throttle cable. When he was done he told me I would have more power and better gas mileage but ever since then it's slowly dropped from 35 to 28. I'm not sure what he did since I'm still new to car tuning but could he have done something to mess up my mileage or am I just being paranoid? My driving hasn't changed, I'm still going to the same places at the same speed.

sounds like he adjusted a fast idle valve and maybe tightened your throttle cable some

the screw on the throttle body is the idle speed screw...and the guy sounds like he is clueless to what he is doing

should I take it to a real mechanic and have whatever he did undone or is it harmless? I just got this car and the last thing I need is an idiot screwing it up.
