I ordered both front and rear Polyurethan lips (Type R) For my EJ8 Due to the fact I know they are more durable but will the match the oem side skirts on my car (aka a flat black) or would have abs been a better match. Also is it true if you scratch the polyurethane it IS NOT black all the way through?

From what i've seen, polyurethane lips tend to flow nicely with oem sideskirts and moldings. Worse to worse, just paint the same color of "black" over your lips and sideskirts.

 

i doubt it will match perfect. if you ever decide to paint them, pls don't armor all the crap out of them so they do match. makes it extremely hard on the painter.

just buy some trim black paint in a can and call it day if you want them all to match.

 

I hate armor all and have never used it on my cars. I plan to leave them just as they come out of the box. I know they might have a slightly different texture but if they flow with the OEM sides nicely thats all I want. I just need to run to lowes for some nuts and bolts to put em on once I get them

 

i have a polyurethan kit on my del sol, just sanded the crap out of the bumper so i could repaint it and just got down to the black, didn't see any other color underneath it. If you do (which you shouldn't see another color) im guessing you sanded way too far down to a point of no return. stick with polyurethan, you'll thank yourself when you wreck the part, all you need to do is repaint it.

 

Poly-U is much more durable and flexible than ABS is. It can take a beating. They seem to fit (IMHO) better cause of this flexibility and match the OE unpainted parts like moldings or sideskirts.
